My bard rock chickens eye is extremely swollen and crusted over. I just found her two days about like this and don't know what to do. I tried cleaning it with saline solution and cloth but it's so crusted over that it doesn't do anything. Please help!

I would use saline solution to clean the eye and then apply Terramycin eye ointment several times a day. If you can't find Terramycin right away, you can use the ORIGINAL Neosporin. Do not use the one with pain reliever in it.

Best of luck!

Welcome to BYC. My goodness, that looks pretty bad. I have seen an ear infection that looked like that, but eyes generally look swollen and have drainage or crust. Can you take her to a vet? Have you had any respiratory infection in your flock such as coryza or mycoplasma? Her eye needs a lot of treatment, warm soaks several times a day, and antibiotics which depend on what type of infection. A vet could prescribe one for different bacteria. Does she have any other symptoms such as nasal drainage, coughing, or wheezing?
