Help! My chickens/livestock are all healthy!!!!!

Mine are all in excellent health too. And my 3rd big chicken has layed 2 eggs this week! All 3 are laying now. Took the brown leghorn 24 weeks to start, and I thought she would be the first one. Go figure...

I LOVE hearing my different roos crow! Each one is so distinct!
I can tell them apart, and listen each morning to make sure each one crows.

And I have a hen that growls, too.
And I have d'Uccles, which 'talk' to me all the time and make some very unique sounds! You believe in dinosaurs when you hear the noises the d'Uccles make!

42 happy and healthy ducks, chickens and guineas here!

No problems introducing newbie chickens to the coop either. 3 chicks over due to leave the brooder.... Looking forward to spring when we will be hatching more!!!!!!!!

I love having my chickens. They get so excited, when I open the hatch in the mornings, so they can get out into the fenced chicken yard. They come running to me for goodies to eat. Some hop onto my lap, when I sit down. Soon they will be let out into the garden to forage on their own for the winter. They will get suplemental feeding in the hen house, but they so love being able to scratch , dig and run-fly. I love having them check out what I am doing. Our pullets have started to lay. So I have been able to pickle some eggs. They also are excellent at pest control and fertilizer distribution, when they get to be out in the garden.

I already posted once here, but I have to add that yesterday for some reason the pullets (which had been hanging around the coop a lot) decided to venture much further out into the yard, and started to try to FLY a BUNCH. One tried to fly up to the top of the laundry on the line. (thankfully she never made it cause she'd have gotten stuff dirty from her feet or worse!) It was hilarious!! It was as if flying was contagious, and once one started, they all had to try! I was laughing at them for quite a while... then they all settled down for some serious bug scratching. Very amusing.

Becca, that is so funny!! About 3 days ago one of my young roos began to crow his big boy crow for the first time and we nearly tripped and fell running outside to see which one crowed perfectly for the first time!

I too have other livestock and I especially love my sheep. I too was told that sheep are stupid etc. Mine are wonderful and smart and just a joy to squeeze. I smell like lanolin when I'm all done.

My hands and nails have never looked better either!

Hah, this is the only thread I can relate too because sometimes no news is good news.... I simply havent had any problems that exceeded newbie question & answer period. They lay gorgeous eggs every day, have a perfect routine including free ranging and putting themselves to bed every night, no predator problems and just really nothing to talk about! Most chicken people that I meet other than on BYC cant believe there is a BYC, they all ask what on earth do you talk about, chickens are easy and they think it's silly to talk about them all the time. I dont agree for when you are starting out, BYC was a perfect resource, but now, yeah nothing much to say.......
