Hello, I've recently noticed that one of my pekin ducks has what looks to be bumblefoot. Im still new to having pet ducks, with that being said i obviously should have noticed this alot sooner then I did, their about 8 months old. I have researched alot on bumblefoot and watched many youtube videos and I still feel I'm not making any headway.
What I have done so far:
Warm water/Epsom salt soaks
Cleaning her feet with vetericyn, bacitracin, Green Goo (animal first aid, 100% natural - this was recommended by someone at a local store)
I have also been wrapping her feet and keeping them as clean/dry as possible.
I have also used a scalpel to remove some of the scab. I'm concerned about cutting into the infected part as I've never done this before and don't want to harm her or make anything worse. From what I've read I need to get the "plug" or "kernel" out which is what I'm not seeing. Is there a better way to go get this cured? What else should I be doing?
Also, I plan to reach out to a local vet soon but highly doubt I will find one familiar with ducks/willing to see/treat.
(Pictures should be attached)
Your advice/thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

Stop with the scalpel, cutting should only be a last resort... keep soaking in warm epsom salt water daily, clear iodine applied afterwards... this is going to take time to fix, so be patient...

The infection will be under that scab, yellowish/whitish stuff that could be chunks or stringy...

Try prying up the scab with tweezers when softened, but it may be a few days before you can do that... keep it wrapped and keep duck isolated in clean area for duration...

Thank you for the feedback/information. With the above treatment and time her foot will go back to being "flat"/normal? As its been about a week now and I haven't noticed the size of the area to be going down at all.

Yes I have a big boy pekin drake named Aflac! He had an awful case as I'm sure you've seen on my thread! It was so awful and it truly took blood sweat and tears and a lot of time, actually he is STILL HEALING! And it's been four months of treatment. It takes some time but it's well worth it. Just give it the time and effort and be patient and I'm here if you have any questions! Here's my boy :) got his lil bandages on cause he's still healing, we both wish you and your baby the best of luck!
