2 day old Muscovy duckling look at the shape of his bill

I can go with either except for the feather color. Never seen a dark pekin.

Being wild, it could be a hybrid muscovy who breed often to local pekins.

Not to mention the obvious long tail feathers already in. I really think this is full Muscovy or a hybrid but every pekin we ever hatched was solid white.

Put a dry wash cloth in there with him for security.

Also, I use night lights with plastic protector removed and cover light bulb (LED) with a blue marker or painters tape because ducks do not see well for a while and the blue light is easier on them. We do same for chickens just color it red.

I have to respectfully disagree on it being a muscovy. 'Scovies tend to have large, brushy tails and fairly long, sharp claws. They also have dull orange legs, not bright, like a pekin's. Muscovies also make a different noise to a mallard derived breed. Can you take a video of your little on cheeping?(You'll have to post it to Youtube first, and them copy and paste the link here)

Did you get a chance to view the video?

My only issue is, there isn’t anything like that at her pond. She watches and interacts with her blended flocks everyday. She’s has a couple geese, Perkins, khaki Campbell’s, and mallards. And couple black and white ones, one with a blue head. No muscovy ever seen there. A couple of the geese are white with orange beaks and feet, the rest black grey, and one has a long black neck!

Yea, I defer to @Miss Lydia -- NOT a Muscovy.
