Help! Netting question?

bdfive, all the pen building I have done so far I've now decided when I build the west side aviary at the Palace I will use either 1/4" or 3/8" poly rope.My poles are only 10' apart max and I think I overdid it some by running wires in every direction between the poles.I have a "X" between the poles with wire to hold the netting up,as well as a square from the wire running straight from pole to pole,,this forms a "box" shape with the "X" shape between the poles so I have really overdone it.Running wire was casusing me headaches because when I would pull and get one wire tight,it would cause slack in other nearby wires. If you use poly rope and pull it good then tie it off,it will always have tension on it.There is no "stretch" with wire like with a rope
Problem is with 8' of pole above the ground or more is with the wires being at the top, once they are pulled tight the wires will pull the top of the posts closer together.Rope doesnt need to be pulled as tight as wire to maintain a no sag affect. I did use some 1/4" cable that no problem will handle a huge weight load but now that I have seen how the peas utilize the pens my efforts to keep the netting up was way overkill. But it was my first time and now I know faster, easier and cheaper ways to do the west side.
Their heads will fit thru 2" net okay and when they get tired of flapping they should easily come back down.Your net moves very little once stretched tightly so the net itself will probably be ready to be replaced before you notice any undo wear on top of your propane tank covers(great idea of recycling btw) Can't wait for pics, and you know niether can Zazouse.

2 7/8 are size of poles . At this point unless I put a stop to it the domes will be welded on today. I think I've attached a picture of a propane tank. If so we're using the blue dome on top of the tank.
well that will certainly make it easer to slide the netting over, i was thinking more of the caps that go on our asetylene bottles
