Help? No internal pip but external egg cracked.

I would start with chipping away enough to see the beak and see if it is breathing. Then as long as there is no bleeding, I would continue chipping away until the chick can break itself out the rest of the way or until it is out. I would stop right away if I see the yolk sac is not absorbed and return the chick to the incubator.
ok thanks now i know that for next time

The external is a bit lower than typical, but not to the point of abnormal. Even pips at the wrong end of the egg usually hatch just fine without assistance. 15 hours since pip is still a bit too early to start helping. Generally, it's a good idea to wait till the 24 hour mark to start helping. At that point, it's safe to assume there is something wrong, and you can usually assist without much fear of doing harm. I'm not a big advocate for hatching intervention. I'd rather do nothing at all than do something that unintentionally leads to the chick's death.

We didn't do anything at 15 hours since we saw its beak when we took it out to inspect it. At 20 hours, we started to assist a little. It's moving a little now, but not much. I'm letting it stay in the incubator and hoping that it still needs to absorb its yolk, but it can breathe better now and gain a little energy.

That is so difficult. I am so very sorry.

I cried all night. Maybe this isn't for me...

It hatched this morning, but I noticed it seems to have a big belly. It's still in the incubator. I'm concerned for the chick and the other eggs, especially since some hatched early and the humidity seems to be pretty high. They will probably end up drowning. :(

It's normal for chicks to look like they have a really big belly. It must have just very recently finished absorbing a big yolk. High humidity in the last couple days is much better than too little humidity. Hatching is very nerve-wracking, no matter how many times you've done it.

Oh, that is good to hear. I think it did just finish absorbing a big yolk. Your post makes me cry thinking that there is hope for this little one. I was shocked that I heard it peeping this morning and out of its egg. But, it was laying down and looks exhausted. Very different from the others who just hatched.

THis is what rhe chick looks like. I am in shock that it is up and moving. But, I can't really tell I. It looks like something red almost looks like it is protruding (kind of bloody looking but not bleeding) around its bottom. Hopeful it might be the umbilical cord and not intestines? I don't want to open the incubator too much until we are ready to give it the electrolyte. But it is walking around and peeping a lot.
