It seems its always the favorite. I'm so sorry. Their all my favorites. I lost one to being egg bound never thought I would miss a chicken but to this day I still think of her. Good luck!!! Little baby is in chicken heaven she's still scratching & pecking.

How much does that cost? I already buried mine but I just want to know if I ever lose another.

The place I took her to is associated with a learning hospital (University of Pennsylvania), so it cost me $35. I've read that some people have had theirs done for free in their locale. I've also read to check with colleges that have Poultry vet classes. I'm sure the cost widely varies. Unfortunately, we don't have ANY poultry vets within an hours drive of me. It really sucks because all you can do is guess.

How's the rest of your flock doing?

I found a place that will do it for $35 too.

The rest of the flock is doing fine. Poop is normal and they are all active and healthy (knock on wood!). I am still keeping a close eye on them though. The only vet I can take them to charges $50 just for an office visit!

I have a theory that nice ones are born less healthy and thats what makes them be "friendlier". My sister thinks that in chicken heaven they bomb chick-fil-a's and bash the owners heads in with hammers
