Help please. Opened pasture, no egg laying now!

So it's been a week with two hours of light added, I have two chickens coming in and laying their eggs, but out of 25 that's not too good :)

I never thought about the goats eating the eggs???

This weekends project is to fence a smaller area back into the coop and see if the rest will provide me with some more eggs.
These girls are going on three years...they will be in the freezer this time next year, and I'll have a new flock of layers.

I would think that if they have never had that kind of space before they might have started laying outside and it is quit fesable that the goats and/or the chickens are eating the evidence before you can find them. I agree with the other BYCer's lock them up for a few days, keep a close eye. You may very well have one or several egg-eaters, which means they may need to meet the freezer sooner rather than later!
