HELP PLEASE Sick Pullet

Your new post came in while I was typing

Looking at the photos, she had another soft shelled egg in her. Give her some poultry vitamins and calcium (crushed Tums, liquid calcium or oyster shell). Keep her hydrated.
Since she has only begun to lay it may straighten out, but it's possible she may develop reproductive problems.

Hopefully since she expelled this egg, she will begin to feel better.

Keep us posted.

In fact, I think she just began laying because her and her sister lay small eggs but not the same color, and I havent had a lot of little eggs from her color. That could explain, but the vomiting? does that make any sense?

I'm giving her poultry vitamins already but I will def. follow your suggestions and add some more in there. hydration is my number one priority right now.
What about the deworming, what do you suggest on that end? should I wait?

I'd wait on the de-worming personally.

Sometimes when a hen has problems expelling an egg like she was having, they can have difficulty breathing or their may be bloat/pressure - this can make it hard for them to breath and it look like they are vomiting or there could be enough pressure that she may spit up water.

Since her crop is empty, I would suspect her problem is reproductive, not crop related. But you will want to keep an eye on her for sure. Just check to see if the crop empties in the mornings. When she is better, the crop should be full at night and empty in the am.

Just my thoughts.

I agree. Glad to hear she is doing better.

The hen in my avatar passed at 8 months old from egg binding. Poor thing laid double yolked eggs every time.

Thanks for the tip. I will def. check that in the morning

UPDATE

So another day has pasted and I'm seeing progress. but slow progress.

She started eating her layer feed on her own, I still give her the seringe to make sure she's hydrated enough though. I add poultry vitamins and a bit of diluted Toms to help with calcium.
She is more awake, she's aware of her environment, and the four dogs all around her, wich she wasn't yesterday. Her eyes are always open and she seems good BUT she's always laying down. I lift her up often, I make her legs and wings move, but every time I deposit her on her bed she can't seem to stay on her feet. She's able to stand right while laying down though, wich is an improvement I guess.

No egg today.
Any thoughts or suggestions about the fact that she won't stand on her feet?

Here's her resting beside the wood stove
That's the position she's always in since yesterday evening

Reproductive disorders can cause difficulty walking. With how the poop looks, I would suspect Peritonitis, but without vet confirmation or necropsy there is no way to know for sure.
Offer some hard boiled egg or tuna for extra protein along with her normal feed.

I would worm her right away, no reason to wait. It will rule out worms or other similar parasites. I dont think at this point you have a reason to wait and see.

Thank you.
UPDATE from today

She is eating good, seems to be great, alerte, poop consistance OK. etc. BUY still doesn't hold on her 2 feet
I wonder if she will recover and start walking again?
I try to take her regularly, stretch her legs, try to hold her on her feet, but when I let go she falls back laying down.

Any one heard of this before?
Will she start walking again you think?

Thank you.

I'm glad to hear that she's hanging in there.

There is really no way to know if she will regain the use of her legs. There are so many things that affect the legs, so it's hard to tell. Look to see if the vitamins you are giving has B2(riboflavin), if not you can crush a human B-Complex vitamin (no iron) and add it to her feed.

Do you know if she was vaccinated for Marek's? Even though she is 8months, Marek's can show up at any point (usually 12-25wks is the time most seen). Stressors like an illness can show onset of other diseases.

You are taking good care of her, do the best you can. I know it must be stressful when you don't see improvement and not know exactly what is wrong. Sometimes, there's nothing that can be done definitively, but give supportive care, TLC and time.

Thank you for the update, please do keep us posted.

Also glad your girl is hanging in there & seems to be getting better. Wyorp Rock suggestion of B2/Riboflavin < iron for weak legs helped my chick with leg issues. I used the children's PolyVisol minus the iron (3 drops a day), boiled egg yolk mixed with his feed & carpeting for traction in it's bin. Seemed like forever but it was 2wks, he was walking (funny gait) and "recovered". It won't hurt and I'm hoping your girl continues to get better.
