HELP! Possible aspiration

I may have missed it...what made you think she was getting sick to begin with?

She had wry neck (at least that's what I'm assuming) she kept tucking her head to her chest and shaking back and forth, she wouldn't walk, wasn't alert at all and not eating or drinking. So I separated her from the rest and was feeding her through a syringe and giving her the nutri-drench. It took a few days of doing that and her "episodes" finally started to subside. She still had a couple today but they were really short and she was able to pull herself out of them quickly. I decided to give her the nutri-drench again today as a safeguard since she still had a couple small episodes and then came the aspiration problem. So now I'm just going to let her be and make sure she's eating and drinking enough. My nerves can't handle much more :p

I'll stick with doing that. That's what I was doing when I made a little concoction to get some food in her. I was mixing some vitamin E in plain yogurt with her feed and a little bit of water with probiotics and electrolytes. I feel like we're just about out of the woods with the wry neck. She's been eating a ton and she'll drink every time I put her in my lap (haven't put water in her brooder just incase she has another episode). She seems to be doing good right now. I haven't heard a sneeze in about an hour. She's in my room until she's completely better so I can check on her often.

Offer her water often...
Until it's bed time.

I do! I've been taking her out every hour and giving her the opportunity to drink. I tried putting water back in there today since she was seemingly not having episodes but she ended up having a small one and went right into the water.

Oh don't worry, no more syringe! I'm too scared now haha she's eating and drinking well on her own. I should've just stuck with putting the nutri-drench in her water... I just thought by giving her a straight dose it was better for her. Now I know to avoid that!

Check out the mouth pictures in this thread....
You will want to make sure the "what ever" you have to force goes down on the SIDE for the future.
