HELP POSSIBLE BROKEN FOOT IN BUTTON QUAIL

Hi there I have a button quail with a hurt foot she won’t use it and it seems to cause her discomfort I was wondering if anyone knows what it is and how to fix it I will insert pictures thank you

My guess is it is broken becasue of the blue pigment, because the injury is so high up it might need to be x-rayed to see exactly where the brake is and if it can be fixed, if there’s a brake at all.

Brakes are usually less of a concern the smaller the bird because of less weight and strain, so if it heals wrong she might have a limp but it won’t impact her quality of life really. Where there is concern is if gets necrotic, because the injury is so high up she could lose her foot if she loses blood flow to her toes.
 
If a vet isn’t an option my advice is to keep her compfortable, keep her someplace she doesn’t need to move to often with water and food easily within reach, and gently massage her toes to stimulate blood flow now and then.
