HELP - Prolapsed Vent

Looks so good! Wonderful job! I agree with what everyone else is saying. You should be proud of yourself! I like your idea about a dissection kit for the first aid bag. I think I am going to get one too! I used to have one for anatomy but that was 20 years ago.

Thank you!
I figured a disection kit would be a good to have on hand vs. not have... lol
It is a pretty decent one, I'm happy w/my purchase:

My husband seems to be more accident prone than I'd like...so I got him a fully stocked EMT/first aid kit for Christmas... :p So far it has only helped my girl Nadine though...

Looky Looky!

She did this ON HER OWN!
I've been giving her partial baths by holding hot washcloths soaked in epsom salt water.... her vent is completely in. I have been cleaning w/antibiotic sprays(same as before) and slathered her with triple antibiotic inside and out...

She's back to her feisty Nadine ways...

My son says her butt keeps smiling at him and making kissy faces... lololol:lau

Here is my Before & After... I found her last Thursday Morning on 1/11/18 ...

That is just amazing, especially in such a short space of time!
Congratulations to you both and thank you so much for documenting your treatment so fully and illustrating it with such great photos. I am sure this will give hope and encouragement to others, both now and in the future, who are facing a similar daunting task and feeling overwhelmed.

Thank you so much!
Daunting is exactly the feeling I felt until we turned the corner...

She will graduate to her diaper tomorrow.. so she isn't so bored all day.. Hubby and I are committed to her gaining weight and laying a few eggs without issue before she re-joins the flock :)

Wow! :clap :bow

I have to ask.. because i thought i had a prolapse that turned out to be just matted clumped solid poop. Is it possible that hers was just poo too?

At any rate, that's an amazing recovery. I hope she gains some weight back, and stays healthy from now on!

What is her name, by the way??

it was definitely a prolapse w/a huge scab that had formed during the -26* temps we had here last week before I had found her .. :/

I was hoping it was just poop.. and soaked and soaked.. but nope.. that was tissue and I could see where it was 'attached' to her... I would try to remove it slowly from the edges inward.. The before pic was after a few soaks to 'clean' what I thougth would be poop.. but no...

Nadine...that's her name.. she's my girl ;)

Ah Nadine! I like that name. :) I went back thru the pics and see the difference. Now we will wait for some pretty, full body pics of healthy Nadine!
