Help recall on romaine lettuce

Ducks don't need lettuce everyday no matter how much they have trained you to give it to them.

I'm very well trained!

Yep ducks can get ecoli.
They can give it to you.
You can give it to them.
No amount of washing makes produce safe.
I had to throw out just purchased Romaine
Time to figure out something different.
I just won’t risk it.

Mine love kale too. They don't get it like the romaine but it's at least safe so far. Collards too.

I live in such a small town that we call the grocery store the “million dollar store” it’s like shopping at a 7-11. (For those who know what that is)
They order Romaine and I’m the first one there on delivery day. Their produce is crap!! Their greens are like rubber and cucumbers go for 1.59 each!!

Or ducks haven't had Romaine in 1 day. The male Muscovy is very disappointed. You can see it in his eyes when he comes over to you for love and affection and green and you don't have any. I actually feel like I've done something wrong when he just looks at me...

Our HEB pulled not only the romaine, but the green leaf because they are housed next to each other in the produce rack and there could have been contamination between displays. Oi.

I told my husband when we move into the country I want a nice green house where I can grow stuff year-round.

Our birds are happy to eat anything. Kale, green leaf, red leaf, butter lettuce, peas, corn, tomatoes, the occasional handful of oats, meal worms, etc... I think as long as they get something they will be happy.

My chickens miss their Romaine. Today all the store had was shredded cabbage and head lettuce. Gotta wait till Tuesday’s delivery.
They’re stripping everything in the yard even the Irises!!
