And, interesting about the squatting and petting. Ours did the same! They never liked to be handled before, so we didn't bother them too much. I just thought we owed them that choice. So we were pleasantly surprised when they started laying and suddenly got friendly. Honestly, though, I think they're just wanting a roo and we're the only beings in the yard that are not-a-hen.
