Try running at him while flapping your arms and screeching like a crazy loon...this worked for me whan all else failed. He took one look and ran as fast as he could AWAY from me. I kept chasing him until I caught him up. He was scared to death. Took only 2 times. Just be sure no one is around or they will think you have lost your marbles.
Believe me I had the worst attacking roo, raised him from a baby too. He still will start his little dance but takes a look at me (I may let out a little warning shriek) and heads the other way.
Ever played soccer or football?
At the first sign of agression we punt them... Then we put them in the net so the other roos can have their way with him. Brings them down in the pecking order several notches. Every so often we bring in the net and when they see it they know the human is at the top of the pecking order.
My dad had a Leghorn rooster that was really awful. He spurred my daughter and left a LARGE hole in her leg. She was only 6 or 7 at the time, and has been terrified of roosters ever since. Dad thought it was pretty funny when the da!#@^ rooster went after someone - until that someone was him. The rooster was dinner that night.
If you're going to keep that bird, he needs a serious as.... butt kicking. Use a fish net and catch him. Then scare the bejezzus out of him. I'd do that every day for a month. Make him fear the sight of you.

We tie up one of ours out by the leg, it works great, they free range and cant get away, and it dont hurt them at all.
they do sell ties for there legs if you dont want to tie a rope around his leg.
Gosh, that's so easy to say. I have one that's possibly worse than yours, and I threaten to kill him everyday, BUT I know that I never will. Should though.
