so we have very strict laws prohibiting roosters… I’ve been trying to record the sound.. but these are some screenshots of my “hen”… supposably it’s a maran I believe? Or was told.. others mentioned it could be a BR.. extremely different temperament (never had this breed before) then my other hens…don’t know if it’s the breed..top hen or just a rooster?

White skin indicates Cuckoo Marans.. with non feathered legs.. so American not French standard.

That's not a Rock.. I at first wondered if it was a black sex link cockerel.. then read the post it was allegedly Marans.. They definitely have a different more rowdy temperament as youngster in MY experience.. leveling off significantly with a little maturity into some of the best boys ever!

The tail isn't the dead give away to me. Even hen feathers curve some there too (making it too easily conflicting). I can't even see any pointy saddle feathers yet in those pics.. Though I do see the double wide white barring in addition to the comb and wattle development for the stated age..

Usually starting around 10-12 weeks and more flowing closer to 16 weeks (pics are from google)..

While some top hens do crow.. pullets don't. Hens can also grow spurs and are pretty common.

Best wishes rehoming etc. :fl

My reaction was "that's 100% a rooster" I'm sorry!!
