Is she dead.
I did the search to find your post. I have had two hens for maybe two years. I bought two more hens and a rooster about 6 months or so ago. There really hasn't been a problem but I started seeing black feathers everywhere and one of my older hens has been losing them. My wife suspected the rooster But I never saw the fighting or anything. The other day I see that my other older hen is losing feathers and I did see the rooster chasing her around. Now call me sentimental but the hens have more value to em cuz I got them first and they produce eggs. My rooster "rocky" is beautiful but if he is the culprit he has to go. Sad cuz I like the fella. I got rid of two other roosters to keep him.
I appreciate your thoughts, ideas, suggestions.

Wow. Learn something new everyday. The reason I thought it was the rooster for sure was that only one hen is loosing feathers. Also she looks beat up not like she is shedding feathers. Trust me I saw that lil buck mount them hens. Funny I never seen him on the black hens just the two red ones I got him with. I am new to this so I am learning. I just knew that the one hen was instantly looking bad, loosing all her feathers, stayed in the roosting area and even stayed away from the hen she has been with for two years. Next I see him fighting with the other black hen. I just don't want anything to happen to the hens. I guess I am a bit partial to the ones that are black cuz they were my first. The rooster didn't seem too bad until recently I watched him go after the black hens. Does it mean anything I mean when they are all introduced to each other? He does rule and maybe they aren't cooperating. Thanks for the info too. That's cool to know and learn.
