I hope this is posted in the correct section - If not, please forgive me.

Do all chicks have spur buds? I have young chicks all under 2 months and I think I see spur buds on most of them! Is that typical? Would only the roosters have those buds? Do the hens have them and they just stay that tiny? Please advise. I'm kind of worried.

Yep, my White rock hens have some spur buds. They are slowly increasing in size, but they've always been smaller than my rooster's buds.

All chicks have those numbs. Cockerels get a good start on spurs around 6 or 7 months. Yes hens can get spurs!

only time will tell, but if it makes you feel better, i have an EE hen with one spur and its longer than any of the spurs on my 4 roosters!
