HELP! ROSEBUD SKINNED-WARNGRAPHIC PICS **UPDATE***

Peroxide will actually kill some healthy tissue, so its better to flush with saline solution.

To keep "rooster damage" to a minimum, I simply file the spur tips blunt. That way they still have spurs in case they need them, but they don't scratch the hens up so bad.

Bantymum... did recognize you with the new av lol... thank you hunny. As for the roo, I think it is one of my polish, but then again I do have 9 roos. So tomorrow during light I am going out there and going to look at each one to see who has the spurs... I KNOW from personal experiance that he does and quite frankly I think a silver laced polish x with a buff orp would not be all that pretty!!! LOL... I really wish I could lock up all the roos... BUT, I dont have a place nor the money to make one. Not to mention, they would kill eachother. One of my roos will be leaving soon... he will be going to my brother in laws. But that still leaves 8. I think I might just get rid of the one I think it is... he is constantly attacking all of us... but has learned not to mess with me or DH... just trying to get the kids to learn how to make him stop messing with them. He is very pretty though and I really wanted him for breeding. Oh well... I have another one the same breed... just not as pretty.

I wonder if I brought Rosebud back here if she would sit on my lap LOL... look at all the chicky pics... I just want to hold her... need to give her all the hugs you all sent.

Well thanks again you guys... I appreciate all of your thoughts an information... especially since I am still learning all of this!!!

Looks like she certainly is the town,..um..yeah...chicken...
That's a spur gash in her side and the naked is from the feathers being worn off...
I'd put the neosporin on the cut and blukote the rest of her back. That way the skin may not show up as much.

Sorry that is bad but at least you spoted her and you are taking great care of her. DON'T FEEL BAD.

Cut the spurs with BIG dog nail clippers, You can probable go half way down..
use your own judgement. THEN file them with a BIG dog nail file so they are not rough and sharp.

rooster red - thanks for the info. I will need to make some up... can you please tell me what the ratio is?

***NEW QUESTIONS***

1. Rosebud did not lay an egg today... is this normal? Stress????

2. I have a Barred Rock that is kind of bare too, not as bad as Rosebud... but thought of bringing her in the house too. Would this help? or would this hurt? LadyBell has not injuries just the feathers missing.
