Those don't look as dark as advertised. But I don't know if it worth the trouble. How much did you pay, what were your intentions with the chicks. If you paid abunch than I would try, If you got them for pet quality, than I would not. It is up to you

I would use the color scale on the link posted as your reference. If that is an official site it should be a good basis on which to request your money back.

Ebay has a "SNAD" complaint procedure, (significantly not as described) and you are on solid footing with that. Marans eggs MUST be a certain color to be considered Marans, those are not that minimal color, not even close. They are not even the color as shown in his auction, ergo, he must refund. Email him that, and if he refuses to refund the money, file a complaint with Ebay and Paypal, links to his auction (make a screen capture of it in case he delets it) and you will get your money back. This is not a case of whether he is a "nice person" or not. Totally irrelevant, and out of his hands. If you make a strong issue of it, you WILL get your money back.

These are my lightest eggs from my Cuckoo Marans, and you know I give my eggs away to other BYC'ers for the cost of shipping only. They were only dark terra cotta colored at the time. They range between a 4 and 5 on the color scale on a typical day. Those eggs you show are NOT passable as Cuckoo Marans eggs, which need to be at least a 4 on the Marans color scale. Please be careful and ask to see the real eggs first? I will even send pics of the eggs I am gathering for you for FREE! The ongoing saga of Marans rip off is amazing to me.

I feel like an idiot, I should have been more careful. I really wanted cuckoo maran eggs because my daughter loves dark eggs, being a new dad...I seem to be getting alot of things wrong..

to satisfy my daughter, where should i get dark eggs? Mind you shes only 3, DW said paint the eggs but that would be lieing

I would get BCM eggs but 50 to 100 something per dozen would put a hole in my pocket
