I found one of my hens badly beat up by two of my turkey hens. I have removed her from the coop and she is currently in an old brooder in the dark, and I moved my turkey hens to an empty coop to ensure they won't attack any more chickens. The hen, a Splash Marans, has lost all of her comb and part of her skull is visible. She is heavily covered in blood and I cannot tell if she still has eyes. I've sprayed her with a heavy dose of Vetericyn. I thought her condition was so rough that she may have to be put down, but so far she has managed to get up and stand on her own. Is there anything else I can do to help her? This is the worst injury I've ever seen, and I've been raising chickens for two thirds of my life. What can I give her to help with the loss of blood? Is there anything I should give her for the pain?
