This silkie chicken is 18.5 weeks old and I’m stumped on whether it is a cockerel or pullet. All the rest of my silkies that are the same age either have really defined streamers or non existent combs. This one has a pretty large crest and is smaller than the others (more the size of the females) but has a small pinkish comb. It is also a silver white silkie and I have heard those are only boys. Is there any hope this one’s a girl?

Silkies are notoriously difficult to sex, or at least they have been for me. So unfortunately I can’t help with that… but

I can tell you this is false. My first silkie was a silver/white hen. I would say there’s at least a 50% chance it’s a hen.
