Help sexing mutts. I hate that i'm so bad at this

The "two headed" bird are Stripe (an awful lot of pattern emerged after it was named - initially, it was a line like a pencil mohawk and not much else) and Sprawl, both of the 5/13 hatching.

This bird is also from the 2/23 hatch, and won't be going under the knife.[photo from 10-14 days ago]

Woot woot! You made the cut Phoenix!

Bird one is at rest, just chilling. Raining (again) that took way too long. 4.62# live weight at 21 weeks - so he was well under target weight as well. Not going to get bird two done today.
Bird three is done. I cheated and disrobed it. Took no time at all. 4.29# live weight. Another undersized male - looked like bird two, but with soft golden leakage, and no feathered feet, so no Brahma mama. :) Bird two is still running around. Maybe tommorow...

1 and 2 both look like black sex link roosters. I have 4 running around my pen right now.

Mutts from my culling project. Papa was barred. Momma, in the case of One was likely a Hoover Hatchery "Rainbow", might have been a Golden Comet (same source), but likely a Rainbow. Two was over a Dark Brahma pullet. Three, not pictured (like one, but the reds more muted) was likely over another Rainbow (some of my rainbows are much paler than the others).

Has he filled in anymore in two weeks? He's beautiful!

Do you collect eggs to incubate them, or do you let the mama hatch them?

I've had to incubate all of them. Actually, today is a hatch day, if they keep to the calendar. Which they rarely do. Twelve set, one removed infertile, hoping for eight.

I have a broody Pekin, sitting on a mix of eggs (various chickens, ducks), nothing hatched yet - and what appears to be a broody SLW, who insists on sitting on... nothing?

4.96 lbs. 21 weeks. Below target weight.

Bird Two, whom I didn't cull, weighs 5.95#, same age. He just dodged the knife. His near identical sibling (a little more grey blue in the body, less green sheen in the feathers) is 4.51 lbs. Next on the chopping block. I keep flip flopping on whether or no its a male. Some of the hackle feathers are quite rounded. Others aren't. Saddle isn't well developed one way or the other. Comb is mixed genetics, legs don't seem as stocky, almost no evidence of where a spur will be - but I know from experience and from cullings that the gonads, if its a he, will be pea sized right now due to the slow speed at which they develop.

Updating my records now.
