HELP! SHOULD I HELP MY CHICK HATCH

My #1 egg was laid 5/31 or 6/1...didn't know if I was gonna let my hens hatch babies this year so didnt date first 3. Anyway I expected to see a chick or at least a pip today but still nothing. I can hear a faint peep. Should I start a pip or just leave it and pray??? Lost 3 last year was hoping to avoid same fate for this baby! Any advice greatly appreciated!!!

Just leave it, it will hatch on its own

I would leave it. The only time I have helped is when the chick is having a problem getting out due to very extra thick shell. I did help the other day. I had twins and one of the twins was dead and the live one could not get our of shell. Sorry to say she died hours later due to the extreme smallness and heat wave.

Thank you all for the advice! Usually I'm just praying for hens. Now I'm praying for hatching. The only year everything went smoothly was the first year. Last year 3 fully formed chicks never hatched AND the 5 chicks that did hatch we all roos!

Ah could be worse right. They were all great roos and got rehomed. Maybe I'll get lucky and get all hens this year!
