HELP!! Sick Chicken, Can't Walk, Several Issues

@Itsamidge

How is your Peep doing?

She had her vet appt this morning and has been diagnosed with egg yolk peritonitis. The vet gave a cortizone shot and antibiotics. He also did a fecal on her. The prognosis is not good. If she starts to show improvement by Friday we will continue medications. If not, we will have to put her down. In the mean time I have to try to get as much food, and water into her as possible.

So sorry. Did the vet confirm the stuck egg?

@ItsamidgeAww. I hope she's improves. I know how hard that is considering I just went through the same thing with mine. I will pray she gets better and fights really hard.
You did all you could!

Thank you chickengirly. The vet also suggested drops of honey every couple hours and to continue with the tums. She has been eating and drinking like crazy today and has been awake all day. She seems to be feeling a little better. She has even tried standing on her own a few times. I'm hoping she continues to improve like this.

@Itsamidge
YAY! I'm so glad to hear that!!!!!!!! That's super amazing!
Best of luck and hope she has a full recovery! Rooting for your Peep! (I have a silkie named Peepers)

Hey how is your girl doing?

Not well. She had perked up the last two days but went down hill quickly this morning. She has stopped pooping, eating and drinking. Her breathing is labored and she won't open her eyes. She most likely won't live through today.

@Itsamidge

I'm so sorry. That's the same thing that happened to my bird after her vet appointment she went down hill. I think it was too stressful for her.
Will you be putting her down? I was so hoping she would pull through this!
