Help! Someone dumped baby chicks in my yard!!

In that case, I wouldn't consider it unlikely to find some Mama hen's chicks in the yard. They can travel far distances if necessary. Although Mom and babies shouldn't get separated, you don't know what could have happened, right?

They are not a week old yet...i am positive...i am deff. not claiming to be a chicken guru lol but i have kept weekly records of all chicks to adults and the tail feathers will begin to appear at a week, and i dont see any little feathers on your chicks, they are really cute though....dont give those away lol there are a lot of good breeds websites and i think there is one on here that shows breeds of chickens as chicks....good luck on finding the missing chick

At least whomever dropped them off found a great home for them (although through the wrong method). They are sure to find the love they need with you.

Don't feel alone, this is how I got involved in BYC! Someone left a box with chicks in it on my doorstep, behind my 6 foot chain link fence!

My guess is that you have a reputation for being good chicken parents, and someone decided they'd just be better off with you! Then again, I don't know if you believe in "immaculate conception"...
