Help! Sudden death!

What can I do for my girls?
Very sorry for your losses. :hugs

That's an awful lot of death in a short period of time.. We've all faced heat and that isn't a good enough explanation for ME.. with the age of the birds, etc.. I would WANT and maybe even need some answers.

If you are able, please consider refrigerating and contacting your state poultry lab and having any of the bodies tested/necropsied (often free or affordable to back yard keepers) as we can't fix what we don't know... Links to help...

How to Send a Bird for a Necropsy

:fl

I would start the Corid right away. It can't hurt. It seems to be the logical conclusion after ruling out poisoning.

If you want to know for sure, gather a random poop sample before starting the Corid. Find a vet that will agree to a simple fecal float test on the sample. Assure them you don't expect them to actually treat your chickens. My vet charged me $20 for the test and they gave me the results in just an hour.

Sorry about losing your chickens. A necropsy would be the best way to find out what happened to them. Do you have a compost bed? Corid is pretty harmless, so I would treat at the maximum dose of 2 tsp of the liquid (or 1.5 tsp of the powder) per gallon of water for 5-7 days.
@Eggcessive, why do you ask about a compost bed? Is coccidiosis more likely to occur in one?

I do not have a compost bed. We clean out the coop and Dispose of the droppings and bedding that they kick out of the boxes.
Starting corrid now
