Are they tame? Could you get some close ups of the neck feathers/hackles? I can't put my finger on it but vibe check is giving me cockerels, it's not unheard of to have combs & redness at 12 weeks but they look more like 15 week development if they were pullets so I'm thinking male.

But in all fairness, combs are not overly red, they're still kind of pink shades, but maybe it's the bulky body and short tails, or the thick legs, or their incredible eyebrows... I can't put my finger on it. I'd give them some more time if you can allow it to see how they mature over the next 2-3 weeks. (and have some others chime in too :))

I really appreciate that. I picked them out from a breeder for a friend. The other roosters that the breeder had were obvious. A couple of pullets were obvious. These were in between. I will ask my friend to take more pictures. I feel responsible as I got them for her. Once I know, I will take them back to exchange. It was these two that threw all my confidence out and made me start to doubt my others. But I have observed so many over the years. Personally I think she has one of each. When I can see/find saddle feathers or hear a crow, we will know. I made the error because it's hard when they are running around and you are catching them to go into a crate. My own little 9 week old rooster is so clearly a boy! He is way easier to pick!

Ok. She took some more photos for me this morning. We live in Australia so I appreciate that our time zones might not match up. If either of these is definitely a cock. I will need to return next week before the lady sells all the hens. Resized_20250706_111029_1751764600571.jpeg P Resized_20250706_111132_1751764589099.jpeg 20250706_111135.jpeg

I would at the very least message/call her and see if she can take a look since they just don't look pullety enough to me. Some of the feathers do almost appear pointed, but it's difficult to see with some of the patterning.

Per that users post, these are 11 weeks old, the pullets are fairly pale still, and the two cockerels in the center unfortunately look like yours

Hmm. I still think they are nowhere near as developed as yours and the combs are still yellow- peach when I see them in person. Maybe in a week we will know with more certainty. have the grey pullets and they look like some of in terms of comb colour and development. I thank you sincerely for all your opinions. I will go over tomorrow to my friend's and have a look in person and also look for saddle feathers. If I think we have boys I'll exchange them. It's quite a drive to the breeder but best to be sure.
