Help!! Too many male ducks :(

Okay so after doing some research around my area..there is a small park located in the center of a large area of homes. There’s acres of grass and a huge pond. Residents fish in the pond..I just went to visit. There’s fish and small turtles there and people feed the ducks daily. There’s 4 male mallards..2 male Pekins..a pair of geese..and a mama mallard with 4 babies..I asked around and residents said the ducks probably got dropped off but have been there for a couple years..I took some peas and the ducks ate them even out of my hand. What do you guys think? Unfortunately adding more females isn’t an option..we don’t really have space for more than 4 ducks..and I would need to get quite a few more females.

Oh and that have an acre large grassy area with a huge pond. It’s well maintained, and the birds get restaurant scraps, bugs, grass and whatever people come and feed them with.

I like both of the ideas. I just comes down to what you want to do. If you need help with the choosing let us know. I vote the park(the one that you were just telling us about). It is close to your home right? If so you could go visit them. Good luck with this whole thing!!!!

Why not try and rehome, Most on here are totally against dropping off domestic waterfowl anywhere. Domestics can't fly away if a predator comes around for one thing. [Dumping is the word around here.]It's not a nice word but a true word.

X2. I am saddened to read that people think dropping a domestic duck off in a park is a good idea.

This is totally the OPs decision..Ethically the Bird should be found a pet home ..Although you never know if it's a good home either.

yes it is CR we know it's Her decision, but she probably wouldn't have posted here if she didn't want to hear replies, so knowing the out come of so many that are dumped off makes us want to try to encourage the OP into trying other means . We're not telling her what to do just pleading she try other options.

If you have the room and feed, you could find two or three more females to balance everything out, so you won't have to worry about losing the ones you are already attached to.
