I noticed in the last couple of days, wart like bumps - red and raised and they have bleed a little- around the corners of my Buff Orpington's mouth and beak. Can any one help me out as to what this could be? The bumps are on the bottom part around the corners of her beek
She seems to be a bit on the lethargic side - but Florence - that is her name - has always been on the bit layed back side.

Thank you for your help.

This is my second year to keep chickens, but my first experience with fowl pox. Any ideas on how to make them more comfortable is appreciated!!!

Since it is a virus, there is nothing you can do to treat it. You could up their protein for a couple of weeks, I don't know if it will help with anything, but it won't hurt either. Keep checking inside beaks and throat to make sure not wet pox, it can swell throat and stop breathing and eating.

They will look like a wart with redish/black tops i think inside the mouth. Mine just had dry pox, just sores on wattles and comb and a couple on edge of beak where comb is.

Thank you I will check tomorrow morning and update with ya'll what I see. Hopefully nothing :)

Update: I did not find anything inside Bertha's mouth but her tongue :)

Hope yours are feeling better!
