Help! What is wrong with my duckling's feet?

I agree they may be something like chemical burns from ammonia that forms in old manure.

And Epsom salt and ointment is a good approach to keeping bumblefoot away.

Towel bedding sounds best, too.
Thanks Amiga I wasn't sure about the ES was afraid it maybe to harsh.

I only rescued 2 of them.

Now I really am racking my brain on how to get
those poor darlings out of there....

He must not know it is me because that will cause all kinds of trouble so
I am on phone now with a friend at the shelter and she will know exactly what
to do.

Thank you everyone for helping me out. Now that I know what it is , I am doing something about
all those poor babies.

Fingers crossed!

There was about 100 ducklings in there yesterday.
Thank you for doing all you can to help them please let us know what happens and we'll all be praying for a swift rescue. 100 ducklings how awful those poor babies. Honestly some people need to be horse whipped. May I ask how much they were selling them for and did you see any adult ducks? maybe they need rescued too.

They were being sold for 10$ each duckling. There were other animals but I did not look around too much and now
I wish I would have had. I did see some peacocks but they were in a huge place as big as my home and they seemed
to be ok. No stink or anything like that.

Also there were some adult ducks and different kinds of geese. They had no grass though they did seem to be quite healthy.
But I have no idea if they had enough water or feed.

The ducklings seem to be the ones that are very badly treated.

My friend will call me tonight or in the morning. (it is 9:05 pm here)
She will see what she can do and who she can reach.
I do hope she can do something about this.

I think the person just does not care about them since he just wants to sell them off,
to make money. I agree that some people should be horse whipped and put in their own
filth in a tiny cage with no water and no comforts at all. That would show him!

I will let you all know what happens. I have begun the ball rolling and now only waiting to
see what will happen.

Thank you again for all the help and support

Thank you so much for the advise.

I will take care of these babies and they will be happy, healthy and fun-loving like all my babies.

Regarding the Epsom salt - a mild solution, not a strong solution - they're just little, too. Tub time, no Epsom salt (it is a laxative, don't let them drink it), will help also, keep the skin on their feet moist for a little while and rinse off the poo. At the same time, keeping the bedding as dry and soft as possible will also help.

And the ointment (no painkiller) . . . just going over the plan...

We know you will, I had a very hard time sleeping last night just thinking of the awful place those poor duckling were being kept, I hope something can be done to get them out of there before they die of some awful respiratory sickness having to breath in those fumes. I think this is Animal cruelty at it's worst.

Thank you so much for all the advise. I am treating them like royalty and they slept with extra thick and comfy warm towels.
Now it is time for a soaking of their little feets.

I will also spoil them with warm oatmeal. Hope they like that.

I should have news today about the complaint I did on that little closet filled with
about 100 ducklings. I actually thought of going in the middle of the night and
ducknapping them all. That is how horrible I feel for not being able to buy them
all and bringing them all home with me.

But he has 5 big dogs that watch the place so I can't really do much except cross
my finges and hope that the humane society will step in soon.

I did not get much sleep either. Just thinking of all those poor babies with burns on their little feets and that horrible air they breathe and
no water... my babies eat as much as they want and have water in the pond and in containers all over the place. I just cannot believe that
those poor babies are in such conditions. Imagine the burns on their feet! Mine are only 1 week old and you saw the picture of the burns.

I feel horrible just thinking of them and wish I had the money to go buy them all!
I hope to get a phone call this morning about the complaint I made.
Just want them to do something right now... not wait.

will keep you informed.
