I have a 3 month old hen who got attacked by older hens and twisted her leg..I am not sure if it's broken but she won't put weight on it. I isolated her so that she would be able to recover in a mellow environment with her own food and water, but she soon developed a large poop blockage on her backside. When I picked her up, she threw up some clear fluid. She was so weak at that point that she let me literally soak her backside in a warm tub, it became unblocked and she has now taken to cleaning it herself..although she struggles to balance on one good leg.
While feeding her the water, I heard some gastro activity - she literally seemed to be burping from time to time - what's that about? It sounds like when a human's stomach is growling.
What should I be feeding her? Advice about actions I should take to promote healing??
Thanks
