Help With Father's Day? Please?

No, please don't....

I've never gotten my mother or father anything for Mothers/Fathers day. My father is very similar, always engrossed in his work with no particular interests or hobbies. A 'happy Father's Day' and perhaps some help with the housework is enough for him.

My dh loves his tools and electronic gadgets, but those I let him buy since I know little about it. I suppose a gift card for those types of places your dad shops. I got my mom seeds and a gift card to splurge on food items she normally would not buy. They love fresh eggs and homemade meals too.Maybe a basket with food items and some gift cards.Gas cards are good for all. My dh is thrilled when I cook meals like his mom used to make.

Don't laugh but a certificate for a massage is nice.A good massage and various body stuff like facial, nails(feet too) is something even men do,but ofcourse not an option for all.

Even a case of favorite drink would be welcomed by some.I would love to get a case of Egri bikaver wine or elderberry wine!

I always tell my dh get me plants instead of cut flowers.Soil, mulch, and fire wood instead of jewelry.Pictures are nice to do. I need to do that with my mom and the kids too!

Hope you have a nice dad with your dad!

Thank you. The gas card is a good idea. He's driven here many times to help with things but will never accept gas money. I'm sure we'll have a good time regardless of what I get him, I'm just happy to be able to finally have a full day with him, just relaxing and having fun. I suspect the highlight of the day will be having a few beers, sitting and talking near the chicken coop. He loves to watch my chickens.

Thats funny! It sounds like my dad! Right down to the sand paper!!!! (but he dont like beer, lol)
We were going to get my dad a hamoc (sp), But we dont have the $ right now. So us kids are taking hime out on Sat, with a friend of ours, to go caonoing.
Then we will have a nice family BBQ, on sunday. You could take your dad out and just hang with him! I think dads want us to love on them more then buy them stuff.
I hope i helped. Ether way, Have a Happy Fathers Day with your Dad!!!

That's what I got Ken last year too. He LOVED it. Still does.

I really can't afford that, a good one is pricey.

I honestly don't think he'd take the time to use it anyway. He is ALWAYS working! He doesn't do the normal "dad relaxing on a Sunday" thing, AT ALL. Like I said in an earlier post, this is the first time I can remember him even stopping to enjoy a Father's Day. It's a good idea though Deb, thank you anyway.

I don't have a dad, so I never had to ponder these things much growing up. Booze was always an option for my ex.

Ken needed the grill last year, other than that, we kinda think "well you aren't MY father, soo...." and do a card.

So my input here is over.
