My father FINALLY took me up on spending time with him for Father's Day this year. He's always extremely busy, and rarely takes the time to just relax and have a good time. He has serious "guilt issues" if he stops to smell the roses, so to speak. So last year he didn't take me up on it, but this year he finally said, yes, we'll spend the day together. So I have NO IDEA what to get him. I even asked him outright, and of course he said "nothing", even though I pressed. He's not your typical dad, he doesn't play golf, he doesn't watch sports, he doesn't wear ties, and really doesn't even have hobbies, other than tinkering on used cars, and even that he hires someone else to do now that he's older. He doesn't collect anything. It's really ridiculous. The only thing I can think of is a case of beer, which he'll appreciate but I want to do something more than that obviously. He's very cheap, so I'd like to get him something he would never splurge on himself. ANY ideas? I know it's not much to go on. I thought of a Home Depot gift card, etc., but it seems kind of lame and he'd just spend it on sandpaper or something stupid, and I'd really rather give him something to remember, as he isn't getting any younger. I know he'd be happy with a sweet card, which of course I will get, and I plan to take him out for a steak dinner, but any other ideas????
