Help with sexing polish chick

Do you trim s/he crest around eyes? My polish is 9 wks and hasn't been able to see for weeks now!

I trim sometimes. I have a white crested black and I trim her from time to time as well as my Buff laced, she has a massive bouffant! My tolbunts can actually see fine, their crests aren't that ginormous.

I would lean towards pullet. My Polish cockerels were working pretty hard on their punk rocker hairdos at that stage and sporting the beginnings of wattles. Your baby is so beautiful!

Ekkk this makes me so happy I have been so gutted about the prospect of having to re home him/her, s/he was the only one outta 3 eggs that was fertile and hatched and because s/he was on his/her own for a while (before I picked up 2 other chick friends) s/he bonded to me so much that s/he hops up onto my lap, lays down and snuggles up for pets and scratches.

I love, love, love them. I had to hatch them, they didn't have them at hatcheries and I saw them and became obsessed. I got my eggs from Omega Hills Farm. They are the nicest most cuddly and sweet girls ever.

Welp. I need one NOW. She is GORGEOUS! I have several other breeds, but my Polish are something special. The lap sitting sessions are the best!

How do u trim? I read somewhere not to.trim but to pull them out from base? That sounds painful!

Ouch! That does sound painful! I trim or put them into “ponytails”. I do watermelon and other cool treat to help beat the heat(Texas ), and one of mine forever has her poof hanging in her face all sticky and wet.
