Help with winter feeding

Thank you all. I want to do the pipe feeder. All great information and I appreciate it. I'm like a fish out of water with winter here and my chickens not being able to go out and forage.

I free range my chickens i also toss out scraps and treets, but never feed them at my door. It can cause them to come begging and hanging out where i do not want them and the evidence they leave behind on my steps and deck.
Most treets i put in the coop or the imediate area right outide of the coop.
I actually buy deer carrots and alfalfa hay to give my birds stuff to peck and sccatch thru for the winter days that they can not get out and forrage.
