So basically I have been incubating my chicken eggs at 36c the whole time!!!! It’s day 19 today 😔 I decided to get another temperature thing to test my incubators one and found that I’ve been incubating at wrong temp the last 19 days, no wonder half of them kept dying 😔😔 I’ve put the temp up to the correct temp now but will the sudden temperature rise shock them? What do I do? I’m so angry!!! I asked hubby right at the start to make sure it was the right temp but he just kept putting it off 😡

Why is your husband the only one that's capable at testing temperature?
that tempature may slow down incubation but there will be no side effects besides a slightly later hatch.

He’s not the only one capable of doing it, but he was the only one who knew where the stuff was to do it all, so like I said I got fed up of waiting and brought one . Thanks for the advice.

Your Guage you bought could be the inaccurate one, it's hard to tell unless you calibrate them. That temperature is not low enough to kill embryos, so it's likely not your problem.
What humidity are you running? What model is your incubator? And are these eggs from your own chickens?

Hi I’m using a cheap incubator I brought off eBay! The actual thermometer cost more than the incubator! The eggs are posted from a lady I know.

Incubators bought in ebay and Amazon (chinabator, "little yellow") Are known to be riddled with issues, which is unfortunate since the nicer ones can get so pricey. Most people buy them for the turning mechanism and use different temperature/humidity gauges and better insulation.
Also shipped eggs have significantly lower hatch rates since shipping can shake them around too much, a good percentage tend to die midway through incubation.
I hope you still get a few chicks, they can be pretty resilient.:fl

Thanks yeah hopefully I still a few hatch, I have seen the eggs moving a little today since I put the temp up, so hopefully they hatch soon, kids are getting impatient as am I lol
