HELP!!!

Pics
And just because some of y'all are this caught up in them now, I thought I would share my dumb moment.

I looked at their feet and it looked like something was stuck to the bottom of them?? I was getting scared, I had no idea what it was!! Until I realized...Ducks have webbed feet. I guess that's what stress will do to you hahaha. :lau

Cant wait for these little cuties to fluff up! They are already trying to run around. Haha

:wee

So after a few hours, no progress, but they were screaming. So I went and checked again. The pip hole was the same size.

I know most people frown upon it... but I took them out and looked them over. They looked stuck, not really shrink wrapped like I have seen before, it's odd to explain.

I chipped around where the normal pip line would be. No blood or vessels at all, completely dried up and looked old! I have never seen anything like that before. Maybe they were in there longer than I thought, definitely ready to come out. So I continued, and as soon as I freed them up some they popped the cap right off. And I put them in the other hatcher/brooder/spare incubator. They are doing great!!

I will post pictures, but the dark spots I am pretty sure were dried up blood. The white membrane under the shell was black and had clear liquid in some spots, and that is where the dark blotches came from.

Great job! :clap I'm a hands-on person too. You did great. Lucky little ducklings.

And that empty egg is gross. Ducklings surprising you is soooo much better than a nasty egg eggsplosion!!

Now...... how do the other 9 eggs look. (well 8 now, right?)

I forgot all about the other eggs. Lol

After seeing what the egg conditions of the live duck egg shells are. I doubt the other 2/4 will hatch. It's a miracle the first two lived through that. The 2 unhatched/not pipped feel light. But I will leave them in a few days just to be safe.

With the younger bunch of eggs, I'll go candle them now. I'm not expecting much, but I will at least give them a look and let them go that 1 week just to see. I won't forget about them this time lol, I have a lot more faith in them now.

They finally found each other, so they are cuddling now! :love

Okay so I recounted, I have 10 that were a week old when power went out. Out of those 5 stopped growing then and are clear. 1 Looks disgusting :sick So I am thinking I found the stinky one.

3 look perfect! Look about three weeks along with no problems! Maybe they will end up hatching next weekend.

And 1 looks good, but isn't formed as much the other three. Just slightly smaller so I'm not sure yet. I can't remember but I might have thrown an extra egg in there a day or two later than the rest.

I can't believe it! Hoping those couple extra will hatch next week, but I'm just glad I have two so they can keep each other company. :thumbsup

This is so awesome!:celebrate
I kept coming back to this thread throughout the day waiting to see if they hatched, survived etc...
I don't have ducks, have only hatched guineas and a couple times I've had them pip than die, I was so afraid that might happen to your little ones due to the traumatic incubation they endured, but yours seem to be tough little customers:yesss:.
I'm so thrilled for you. Good luck with them and the other eggs, Hopefully you get some more hatch out!
:thumbsup
