Thank you all so much for taking the time out to help me! I will take some pictures in the morning. She is on chick starter, and I know this sounds bad, but as far as the treats go, I haven't given her any? What is good for her to have? I do meal worms, and a variety of sunflower seeds with nuts etc in it for all of the older ones.@Lexiee's Chicks
How is your chick?
Can you post some photos?
What type of food/treats do you feed?
While it could be Marek's (6wks is a little young, imho) investigating further to see if adding Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) to her daily feed will make any difference.
Poultry Nutri-Drench does not contain Riboflavin (B2), so look for a poultry vitamin that does or you can use human B-Complex Vitamins (no iron), just crush 1 tablet and add it to her feed daily. Watch to see that she is drinking well and eating her chick starter.
Let us know how she is doing.
That isn't bad at all! I wish more people were in less of hurry to "spoil" their chickens.and I know this sounds bad, but as far as the treats go, I haven't given her any?
The vitamins go in her food. I also have the electrolytes and probiotics in her water. I am beginning to wonder if me keeping her in this state is the right thing to do. But I just don't think I could do the other. That isn't bad at all! I wish more people were in less of hurry to "spoil" their chickens.Especially since she is struggling I wouldn't introduce treats now. But the raw egg yolk or some chopped boiled egg is still acceptable.
It does sound like she is improving. I probably wouldn't try the sling right now, it was me who suggested it. But doesn't sound like you need it. Does the vitamin you got go in feed or water? Liquid is my preference because it seems like it absorbs faster. And for any failing bird I will do a drop of the liquid vitamins (full strength) straight onto their beak just below the nostrils so when it flows around they will naturally gobble and swallow it.
Hope she continues to improve!![]()
