HELP!

@Lexiee's Chicks
How is your chick?
Can you post some photos?
What type of food/treats do you feed?

While it could be Marek's (6wks is a little young, imho) investigating further to see if adding Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) to her daily feed will make any difference.

Poultry Nutri-Drench does not contain Riboflavin (B2), so look for a poultry vitamin that does or you can use human B-Complex Vitamins (no iron), just crush 1 tablet and add it to her feed daily. Watch to see that she is drinking well and eating her chick starter.

Let us know how she is doing.
Thank you all so much for taking the time out to help me! I will take some pictures in the morning. She is on chick starter, and I know this sounds bad, but as far as the treats go, I haven't given her any? What is good for her to have? I do meal worms, and a variety of sunflower seeds with nuts etc in it for all of the older ones.
Lastnight, she actually started straightening her right toes out, and she is putting pressure on that leg. She still falls over, but she can make it to her food and water bowl without landing in all of it now. Her left, (the leg that she started limping on first) is the same. I put my hands in there, and she wobbles to me to get in my hands. So, to me, she has improved a bit. I just don't want to get too excited over that improvement just yet. I did go by Tractor Supply today and picked up some type of multivitamin (can't remember the name, but I know I saw Vitamin B on there, hopefully it's the Vit B that I need) and I put that in her food. So, we will see.....
Another question.... Do I need to take pressure off of her legs, or will that cause more problems? I believe someone mentioned putting her in like a sling. (Almost like a swing with her legs out).
Thank you all again for all of your help!!

That isn't bad at all! I wish more people were in less of hurry to "spoil" their chickens. :thumbsup Especially since she is struggling I wouldn't introduce treats now. But the raw egg yolk or some chopped boiled egg is still acceptable.

It does sound like she is improving. I probably wouldn't try the sling right now, it was me who suggested it. But doesn't sound like you need it. Does the vitamin you got go in feed or water? Liquid is my preference because it seems like it absorbs faster. And for any failing bird I will do a drop of the liquid vitamins (full strength) straight onto their beak just below the nostrils so when it flows around they will naturally gobble and swallow it.

Hope she continues to improve! :fl

You don't have to give her treats if you don't want to:)
She can have what you give the older ones but a very small amount. Since she is struggling you want the chick starter to be the main source of her nutrition. She will need a source of poultry grit (crushed granite) to help process those properly.

If she is satisfied with the chick starter at this time - I would just give her that. I do wonder since you free range if she was not eating/drinking like should have since she is improving fairly quickly. Getting her hydrated and eating is the most important.

As for the sling - sometimes that can be helpful if they are not able to move around much. Since she is moving to get to food/water then you may want to see how she does for a day or 2. Watch to see that she is eating well. Check her crop to make sure she's going to bed with a full crop.

The vitamins go in her food. I also have the electrolytes and probiotics in her water. I am beginning to wonder if me keeping her in this state is the right thing to do. But I just don't think I could do the other.

Try increasing your B2 (Riboflavin) or crush a human B-Complex tab and add it to her feed daily. You can try taping the the toes, but she may be too old to correct them.

Curled toes can also be a result of genetics or skeletal/bone disorder.

You are doing the best you can. As for culling her, give her a bit more time to see if you can correct the toes. She may have more difficulty walking as she gets older and gains weight. If it's a genetic or bone disorder there could be other unseen complications when she gets to point of lay, but you never know until you try.

She's so cute! :love Sorry I know that doesn't help your decision.

I have to be honest... I think it will become painful to walk on those as she grows. And harder to cull for your heart. :(

On another threads I saw the vet only charged $10 to euthanize someones' chicken. If I wasn't able to do it myself and had to go that route I would consider the vet.

@Wyorp Rock always has given good advice that I've seen.
