Of course I just cleaned the coop out about 3 hours ago, before I knew about this. Thank you having chickens is becoming scary! Lol

Okay one more question, how much should I be spraying on them? And while I continue this for three weeks when I do the coop again next week do I spray the chickens themselves again as well?

Spray both the chickens and the coop weekly.
I'd spray them very generously.
You don't have to soak them wet but give them a few good sprays.

You want to continue to spray to break the lice life cycle.
They are constantly laying eggs that hatch and you need to kill off the lights before they continue to hatch more eggs.


If it were me I would be spraying every 5 days.

I will do that. At tractor supply now, they don’t have the spray you recommended so looking for another one similar to it and a dust. Should I put dust in the coop and spray them? Or just spray coop and spray them

I prefer the spray for the coop because it is way easier to spray cracks and such.

I believe a lot of people prefer to use the dust on the bird when it is cold outside.

I prefer spraying them.

So I am back with some bad news. The chick died last night. And now the rest of the chicks are showing symptoms of swollen eyes and weak. Not to mention I found a black silkie had dropped dead for no reason no signs yesterday. I have no idea what I’m up against and why this is happening. Any advice?

These two month old chicks are your only chickens?
They all came from the same place and you have not brought home any other birds from a different place correct?

I have full grown golden laced polish and tolbunt polish frizzles in a different area of the coop but under the same roof that are showing no symptoms of anything..all of the chicks came from cackle hatchery
