I have been hatching my mallards duck eggs. My hens are sitting on them but this is happening and I’m not sure at this point if it is alive or dead. I’m not sure if it’s hatching or not either. Maybe the hen cracked it? What do I do? Should I bring it inside under a heat lamp?

No I haven’t seen any movement or heard anything.

If it is still alive, yes, put it under a heat lamp. If you have an incubator use that if not get a tote or something, put a light in it and a towel over the top to keep the heat in without burning down the house. Put a little dish of water in the tote because it needs high humidity.

Remove some of those loose pieces of the shell so you can see if the bill is near there.

I’m pretty sure it is dead. It did not move at all.
