Hi, all! My pullet is sick, and I'm not sure, but I think she has an impacted crop. But she also had diarrhea last night. Is there a chance these two things can happen together?

Hi, Eggcessive--thanks for responding. I thought maybe her crop was big this morning. I gave her water and olive oil, massaged the crop and tried to make her vomit. Didn't work. I've been giving her Gatorade and letting her sleep. She's still pooping green and seems really out of it--unsteady on her feet. I don't know what to do.

Do not make her vomit. That could cause her to choke to death. How does her crop feel? If it is hard or firm, give her som chilled coconut oil, cut into small pieces to peck, up to 2 tsp. Massage the firm crop several times a day, but do not massage a puffy soft crop. Get some fluids into her. Recheck her crop tomorrow morning, and feel if it has emptied. If not, is it firm, dough-like, or puffy soft?
