HELP!!!!

My chicken got a beak injury about a week ago. It happened just below her nose and it was more of a scrape type injury. It took off a small piece of the top layer of the beak just enough to make it bleed. My parents didn't think it was bad so they wouldn't let me treat it. Well now the injury is scabbed over but swollen and the tip of her beak below the injury has lost the top layer of the beak and is now thin and pink. That's what I'm worried about. It's swelling more and I the tip is getting thinner. I don't know how to stop it

The yellowish circle at the upper part is the original wound that's swelling and below it is pink and thin. How do I help her?

If you have any idea what is happening and why please tell me. And if you have any idea how to treat it.

I wouldn't worry.I'd wait to see.I don't think it is life threatning,but if she can eat,she should be ok.

It worries me cause it's been little over a week since the incident and the tip has been getting worse fro the past couple of days and showing no signs of getting better. And the wound is swelling and I don't know if that's the cause or what

Maybe you should dip the beak in warm water.And put antibiotic cream on it.

Do you have any Blu-kote? You can spray some in a plastic disposable bowl and use a q-tip to apply it to the beak. You will need to towel her and put her on your lap to do this. Neosporin can help as well, however you might want to put this on a roosting time so it stays on. But the Blu-kote will work really well. If you use neosporin, apply it every night for several weeks. Again, you may need to towel her up and put her on your lap to work on her.

I had a chick rip half of her upper mandible off completely down to the skin and it bled pretty good. These things can get infected, so let your parents know it is good to treat them before infection sets in. Once they develop an infection, it becomes very difficult to treat if at all. I used Blu-kote on the beak for about 2 months until the upper part of the beak grew back in. You can get this stuff in the horse section of most feed stores. It stains the hands and clothing very easily so be careful with it and use gloves when spraying and applying. Do not spray near the birds face, but put the Blu-kote on with a Q-tip. Blu-kote is good for all injuries, helps to prevent infection and hides areas that other birds will want to pick at.

I don't know if that will help it seems like is already infected that's why it's swelling. It's scabbed over pretty good
