Helped an older lady, with a walker by opening the door...

I was leaving Pennys today, and held the door for a really handsome, built nice man today. And he smiled at me!!! But he did have stuff in his arms and I saw needed the help. I have had a burden to go help someone, and then they tell me how worried the were wondering how they were gonna get this stuff to the car, ect... And I tell them that God heard them, and sent me to help. They appreciate it so. I think the hansome guy was a quick reward!

I wait on two customers in wheelchairs, and they are very gracious when I help them with the door coming in and going out. I carry groceries out for a lot of older customers, because some of them are so shaky on their feet, I am scared they will fall trying to open their car door or the store door . . .most are tickled.

I would have told that lady, "Have a blessed day". Probably would have really ticked her off.

Some people are just cranky for crankiness' sake. Keep doing what you anyways. The world needs more nice people.

I am younger and when someone is sweet enough to hold a door for a Lady, boy do I feel special. I always attempt to hold the door for those around me be it older or younger, spry or needing a bit of assistance. Course if it looks like someone could actually use the help I try a bit harder.

Keep being polite and nice to those around! I think we all need to try hard to make someone's day, even small things make a difference.

Yep. I hold the door for anyone coming after or towards me, old or not, handicapped or not, hands full or not...it's just good manners. I'd have just smiled and told her that I do this for everybody because my mama raised me right!

You wouldn't believe how many people bust my chops when I say Yes, Ma'am, and No, Ma'am...even had a former boss threaten to write me up for this simple politeness and respect.

I remember one time I was waiting outside a restaurant for my father after we'd finished our meal. He was inside talking to someone he knew, so I was getting some fresh air. A woman was coming into the restaurant, so I held the door open for her. I could clearly see her look of shock and confusion, and without a word, she veered over to the other door and opened it to go inside. My father saw the whole thing and was flabbergasted. He theorized that she hadn't been shown many acts of kindness, so the offered door holding was weird or something.
