I lost the 2 babies that were in the wrong position over night. The other 7 are still alive. I moistened the membranes and got the wing out on all but 1 this morning. I didn;t have time to get head out so I will have to do that tonight. 1 or 2 of them were really moving and pushing so hopefully they are close to read to come out. 1 of them looks like a gray (this one had the tiny aircell and I couldn't get the wing out yet) and the rest are eiter blue fawn or butterscotch. One of the eggs is bigger so I think it could be a mini silver appleyard.

Sorry you lost the 2, justme, but I'm glad the others seem to be doing OK.
This Call duck hatching ain't for the faint of heart. Sonja is a Call duck hatching machine!
The first ducking to hatch that came from OUR birds is a beautiful little White with a TEENY bill and rolls over on it's back a lot(should bode well for body conformation). I have that one GIANT Rouen in the brooder with the teeny Calls and he thinks those are his babies. He is adorable-he snuggles with them and is trying to show them how to eat.
When the Rouen hatched Sunday night, he came out running. By yesterday morning, he was jumping out of the lowest tray of the incubator into the floor and CLIMBING BACK IN AGAIN. It was insane. My husband didn't believe me until he saw him do it yesterday evening. He's a mess

Justme, I'll be going through this for about the next 3 months. It does get easier and by the time you finish one hatch, you'll have no skin left on your hands from scrubbing them so much. Mine look like sandpaper.
Thanks, ady, I'm pretty proud of our first baby. I can't wait for my DH to see her-hopefully it will make the loss of Mrs. Piglet a little easier on him.
well i am reading everything you guys and taking it in... This will be my first call duck hatch and i hope i do ok! I candled again last night and they are all still moving around ALOT lol I hope they all make it but as i hear from you guys i'm sure i will lose a few
Hatching Calls is a HUGE learning curve. Totally worth it, though, when you see them screaming around the brooder.
Currently have 4 Call babies in the brooder-added what looks to be either a Butterscotch or possible a Blue Butterscotch-very weak, but hoping the others cheer it on and get it up and running.
