Hey, that sounds like what my exterminator guy uses.

I think I may have to go in after 2 of the ducklings-not seeing any movement so either they are weak and tired of trying or they're sleeping...
The other 2 are making big jabs at the air cells.
Looks like i need to go start on a couple of eggectomies...I HATE that, I had so hoped they would hatch by themselves...

Thanks, justme, I hope so, too.
I've had a LOT of malpositioning issues with ducklings this year-that's the reason I hate waiting to see what they're going to do. I've had 2 that have also pipped externally and flipped in the egg and drowned...very strange year for hatching so far.

I had 2 in my last batch that were malpositioned and I lost them bot because I went through the air cell and their yolks were exposed. Hopefully next time I will be able to tell better if one is malpositioned. How do you figure out where the bill is to pip the egg if they are malpositioned?

Ady, did you have to "assist" your butters?

Yes I did... They seemed a bit "too lazy" for me. Made me worry so I pipped for them. Then after several hours I made pip go more around and then after several more hrs I pulled a few heads out. Had one positoned funny too. Three came out on there own the other two I helped.

That's the hard part, justme. Lots of times, they have their head under their wing and you can't see anything. You throw a Hail Mary and hope for the best. Wish I had a more scientific answer for you. If you have a GREAT candler, you could MAYBE see that way-I just don't.
