Brooder almost done, needs a light box and a roof. I am going to put hinged ends on it.

around 2 AM we had some terrific storms roll through here, one wave after another. lasted until about 4AM.. more in store for this afternoon..
Frankie gets quite anxious when she hears thunder.. I think it is a newly acquired fear.
because then is the only time she is allowed to sleep at the side of our bed..

I was stationed in Colo Springs for a few months. every day just before sunset, the air would cool on the mountain and we would get a thunderstorm. It would knock out our computers. at about 4:30 we each would sit at a computer and wait for the lighting to strike.. IDK if this went on year round, but it did when I was there in late winter until early summer..

no rain to speak of here.. 5 miles north is getting rain but I have gotten a trace 2x, in a couple of weeks.. which is good for my cousin across the road, putting a new roof on the old cow barn.... I have to water the kale and cabbage and such, at least it's not the full garden.. sunny, windy and 83f here right now.. tomorrow supposed to be 61f.. rain and low 70's friday and sat

you said it, it's supposed to be fall.
I was processing cockerels. I do them in pairs in the plucker. I did 2 and when I was finishing cutting up the 2nd one i decided it was too warm :barnie
The others get to live another day or week

what kind of plucker do you use ?
I build a Whiz Bang style plucker.
I have built 5 of them.. I build one, and after I sell it, I build another.

Looks great:love What is the biggest bird it can handle? How many hours does it take to build? if you don't mind me asking , about how much in parts?

I just have a yardbird plucker, around $400 now. I bought mine on sale a while back, don't remember what I paid.. Works good on chickens and ok on turkeys... I did a 2 1/2 yr turkey last week that dressed out at 20lbs.... turkeys I have to remove the long feathers on the tail and wings, neck and feet.. even then i need to shut it off and flip the bird... stil less than 5 min with all the fussing for a turkey.
Best luxury item I bought :lau
