Helpful hints for building coops

We had 96.6° here today. Bad day to be outside, but I had a used coop being delivered so I had to get ready. Then a guy wanted to buy a rooster. It was a very busy day.
I did cut down a small tree, and nearly finished the quail flight cage. All I have left to do is screw the roof on, add a couple more perches, and install latches and a pair of hinges. Going to put a shelf over top of the waterer so the birds don't perch on it and poop.

we had quite the light show. I believe one could stand outside and read a newspaper.
there was one tornado south of us. Anne was at work south of here in Mosinee. the tornado went just about six miles south of where she was working..

I have an electric chain saw. I bought it specifically for cutting posts and beams when I was building lots of decks one summer.
I also used it one winter to saw all my firewood when I heated with wood.
do your quail roost ? mine didn't ..
and they also didn't use the nice nesting area I built for them.
had a nasty storm again today. all we got was lots of rain with the light and noise show.

Have you had open houses?

Yeah we've had 3 so far and I can't count the number of folks who've been through the house at random times. Realtor says give it a couple more weeks so that's what we'll do.

We're waiting for the manufacturer to do the detailing on the new place so we can get moved in. Hanging here at the old place is just spinning our wheels and it's nerve wracking.

I held two mortgages once<gulp!>
Luckily the new place was empty and I could move in slowly and start getting fences up.

AhCrap!!
Mine were all panting hard with wings out, despite EL and ice, before that storm finally broke yesterday afternoon....I was starting to worry.
Temp dropped 10° in 10 minutes when it finally rolled in.

sorry about the hen,, naturally it was the most friendly one..??
Mother Nature is being coy today. acting as if she did nothing wrong for the past two days.
beautiful night and morning. no AC needed , windows open..
I built two spec homes and held two mortgages twice. makes for some stressful times..
