we won't turn it on until the morning coolness wears off. It does have a flexible exhaust 4" hose. I cut a hole through the wall for the vent instead of using a window. In the winter we stuff insulation in the vent hole..
I am well satisfied with it's performance.
Annie is gone right now, but when she gets home I will have her get the paper work for it.

I don't touch her files. I don't know the codes..

Hitting on the collective mind here....
Anyone have any experience with a portable Air Conditioner?
The kind that sits on the floor inside and has exhaust hose thru window?

Biggest I've found is 12kBTU, say up to 350sqft and I have 700.
Open floor plan is a huge concern,
not to mention the open stairway to lower level and hallway to bedrooms off the 700sqft main living area.
Afraid it would be a waste of money,
both in outlay(~$500) and power consumption.
Not sure it's worth it to drop the temp 10°.
Sigh.

10 degrees is a lot. And if you didn't like it....return it.

At work we would rent ones that were about the size of a refrigerator to cool server rooms when the chiller went down. I don't remember the BTU size and they were 220v
My brother has one for his garage about the size pictured. Heats and cools...Since the garage is not insulated and has a garage door, it's doesn't do much.
But he has used it in the house when central AC went out and he said it was a life saver

Getting the humdity out is worth t

We're using one right now in the cabin we're staying in while our house is built.

IMO, it's significantly inferior to the window/wall unit we have in the bedroom. It struggles to cool the air to the same degree as the mounted unit and the amount of floor space it requires is annoying.

Also, though this isn't a concern for everyone, our cats keep changing the settings by jumping on it. Last night they knocked the hose out of the window fitting and it ended up 91 in that room! So not a good option if you have kids or cats.

IMO, they have their uses, but are inferior to mounted AC units.

Hi Aart,
the unit we have is Everstar. can't find a model number. or the btu rating.
we have had this one for 15 years.
We had an Amana that also heated, but it died a couple of seasons ago..
We do not have any duct work in the house from a furnace because we are total electric.
If we put this Everstar into a bedroom, I think we could make ice cubes on the dresser top.
